Year 11 mock interviews with local employers

Our Careers Programme aims to get students ready for post-16 and the world of work beyond school. Year 11s prepared and practised for future interviews when we held our mock interviews with a range of local employers in October. Every student had an appointment with a local company to give them the experience of a real interview situation.

Interviewers from Nestlé Waters, Tenneco, Breedon and Nexperia were very impressed with how our students conducted themselves and the great answers they gave to some tricky questions. The employers followed each interview with some feedback to help students to understand what went well and what they might need to improve on e.g. maintaining eye contact, good body language, and the quality of the examples given.

Some of our students were a little nervous about going for an interview, as we would expect, but all of them did so well and left feeling positive about the whole experience. Well done Year 11, you should be very proud of yourselves. And thank you to the employers who made our students feel more comfortable and confident for their future interviews.
